# 2 ... waiting on #3

Crazy Nights! (Read post before this one to fully understand the expierence.) Ok, so we got home and finally got to sleep. At about 5:20 am the smoke alarms in the house started to go off then stopped. Dub and I jumped up and ran to the boys rooms. He grabbed Warren and I took Will. The alarm would go off for about 10 seconds then stop. It was really weird. There was no sign of fire. We realized that the alarm had been triggered in Will's room, because the light was blinking on his detector. I had a bath and body works air freshener in his room. Yes, we think that is what set off the alarm. The boys sleep with their doors shut. I think the scent got so strong that it set off the alarm. I searched the web and found a few articles that said that air fresheners can trigger alarms. Just to be safe we went ahead and flipped the breakers in their rooms. We will check it out in the daylight. Poor Warren flipped out. For those of you who may not know, the smoke detector seems to be a frightening thingto him. The light flashing over his bed is scary. In fact, every prayer including blessings, ends with "Lord Jesus and firemen don' let me be scared of my light." I am afraid after this little episode we will need to do lots of praying. So that is #2. Since things always come in 3 I told Dub we need to be very cautious. (: I realized the importance of the smoke detector tonight. Even though it wasn't a fire, I was glad that it had alerted us. We were able to get to the boys so quickly. It made me feel good to know even when we aren't aware of what is happening the smoke detector is.
Smoke detector- very good.
Awakening in the middle of a short night- not good.
Being the only one unable to get back to sleep- very not good.
Check the batteries in your detectors folks!
